Why Recycle?

E-waste which generally includes any product with an electric cord or battery can be environmentally harmful if disposed of in landfill as these items contain toxic and hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium and brominated fire retardants. Items containing these substances are damaging to the environment and should not be sent to landfill. If disposed of correctly, the recyclable components can be recovered for reuse and hazardous materials can be treated appropriately.
